Navigation without a Mouse

You can navigate through the pages using your keyboard (Tab key), allowing users with movement problems to access the content. The bookmarks are automatically read out to visually impaired users at the beginning of the page. Other users accessing the website using their keyboards will see the active bookmarks at the top left of each page.

The combination of barrier-free design and the content management system used, RedDot, is probably unique. This combination means that the content of the pages can be changed or expanded retroactively without infringing the accessibility guidelines.

The Lubmin-Brandov Gastransport Internet presentation is based on various standards:

• Use of modern, valid XHTML 1.0 transitional
• Layout of pages using valid cascading stylesheets
• Compliance with the requirements of the German statutory instrument based on the proposals made by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of W3C and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG)
